2017 Holy Week & Easter Sunday
‘He is risen!’ A look back at Holy Week, Easter Sunday
Holy Week observances at PPUMC led up to three joyful Easter services on Sunday, April 16. The services throughout the week featured Scripture readings, hymns, vocal solos, and choral anthems, vividly telling the story of Jesus’ passion, crucifixion, death, and resurrection. Children participated on Palm Sunday in the procession of the palms, special music, and the annual egg hunt; the youth offered the Maundy Thursday service, “A Living Last Supper”; at the Tenebrae service on Good Friday, the passion and crucifixion were remembered through scripture, hymns, dramatic presentation, and music from the Chancel Choir and soloists including Brian Rafferty; and on Easter Sunday, the P3 service was back in the restored Fellowship Hall and worshippers filled the sanctuary!
