Gadgets & Gizmos VBS: June 19-23, 2017
We are preparing for another exciting VBS this summer! The theme is Gadgets & Gizmos: Uniquely Wired, Wonderfully Made. We’ll be learning about how God made each of us in HIS image and unique at the same time! What an incredible way to show off God’s power by using the special way He made us to make a difference!
Children are an important part of Plymouth Park UMC. We believe that Jesus said, “Let the children come to me” because he knew that children are the present and future reality of this church and the church universal. We strive to be sure that they are prepared for it while still having fun in the Word.
Children’s Time and Children’s Church
Children’s Time is a special part of the 11:00 am service in which children come to the front of the sanctuary and are told the lesson in a child-friendly way. They may then go back to their parents or follow the Children’s Minister to Children’s Church. All children younger than kindergarten are taken to the nursery while kindergartners through second graders head to Room 106 for a lesson.
Nursery care is available on Sunday mornings for infants-pre-K children. Infants are cared for in Room 105, toddlers in Room 103 (the Jungle Room), and 3-4 year olds in Room 101 (the Ocean Room). Care is available on a request basis for other events. Please give 24 hours notice for special child care needs by contacting Cori Bell.
On Sunday mornings after 9:30 am, 3 and 4 year olds can be left in Room 308 for care before Sunday school. They will be brought back to Room 101 after class is over (about 10:45 am.)
Engaging Sunday School classes that appeal to children of today are offered for ages 2 years old through 5th grade from 10:15 to 10:45 am. Click here for detailed information.
Kid’s Club meets every Wednesday during the school year from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Activity Room. We have free play followed by a Bible lesson. Children who need to stay until 8:30 pm can head to Room 101 for a movie and snack.
Wednesday Night Dinner is from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and the cost is $6.00 per person. Please RSVP to Cori Bell.
June 8-July 27, 2016
SuperReaders Academy is a new program to help get 4-6 year olds ready for school. We’ll use music, movement, books, and DVDs to get kids moving and learning.
There is no charge, but you must register.
Children’s Council meets the fourth Monday of every month at 6:30 pm to discuss and plan events and ideas for our children’s spiritual journey. This is not a closed meeting, and all are welcome to join us.
