Plymouth Park United Methodist Church celebrates Worship with three Sunday Services. Enjoy the sacred space, renowned music and proclaimed Word through United Methodist worship that is vibrant and inspiring!
When the prophet Isaiah entered the Temple and was met by the countenance of the LORD, he fell on his face in fear, shouting, “Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; yet my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of Hosts!”
Isaiah wished for an encounter with God, and received it. Once he had it, he wished that he hadn’t.
Worship is that moment when we set aside all our pretensions and come before God, but probably not expecting for an encounter with the Divine that Isaiah had. We come before God seeking a sense of the Divine in our lives. But other than that broad explanation, we do not come before God seeking the Divine in the same manner. For some, God is met in the music. For some, God is met in the prayer or the liturgy. For some, God is met in the sermon (a continuing source of amazement for those of us who are called to “preach the Word of God).
For some, worship is synonymous with a church organ and the great church music of the classical age. For others, worship means guitars, drums, and music which is of their generation.
And for some, worship involves the sacraments, celebrated as often as possible.
For all these reasons, and others, Plymouth Park United Methodist Church offers three distinctly different worship experiences each Sunday morning. They are listed below in order of their size, not in order of their importance. We are committed to all three services. Even more than that, we are committed that all three services allow for, even encourage, an encounter with the Lord, the King of Hosts.

Altar flowers provide for recognition and remembrance

If you would like to honor or remember a special event or loved ones, please consider providing altar flowers for Sunday worship. The altar flowers are always fresh. Available dates are listed online and in the altar flower sign-up book on the table across from the church office. You may also email us at churchoffice@ppumc.org.
Your donation of $50 will provide two beautiful flowers for Traditional worship. You may take your flowers with you after the 11:00 a.m. worship service or leave them for United Methodist Women to take to sick members or shut-ins.
