Christmas 2017 Angel Tree

Christmas MissionsLet Your Heart Guide You to Select an Angel

Be an angel this Advent season by helping others have a better Christmas. Let your heart guide you to select a gift request ornament(s) from our Missions Christmas tree in the Ministry Center near the church office. Your gift can help an Irving nursing home resident, Main Place teen or Dallas County child and family served by the Salvation Army.

Pick up Angels this SUNDAY … JUST IN TIME FOR after-Thanksgiving shopping.

Ornaments from PPUMC Angel Trees, located in the Ministries Center and Youth/Children’s Hall, identify area holiday mission opportunities.

  • Irving Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has provided a list of individual items for each resident’s special needs. Requested most are sweats (tops and bottoms), pajamas and personal grooming items. Select a senior angel to make sure no resident is left out. Your unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at the church with ornament tags by Sunday, December 10, 2017.
  • The Main Place ornaments list sneaker needs for IISD needy students. Please return shoes (with tags, if available) to the church by Sunday, December 10, 2017. NOTE: School-appropriate shoes can be used throughout the year.
  • Salvation Army provides gift suggestions for children not listed at mall Christmas
trees. Your age-appropriate gifts and personal items will be distributed within Dallas County. Unwrapped gifts with attached tags are requested by Sunday, December 10, 2017.

We hope your Sunday school class or family will consider adopting several senior citizens, teens or children as your 2017 projects.

PPUMC Missions Team members will deliver gifts to distributing organizations.

Thank you for your participation during this holiday season!

Christmas Service of Hope and Remembrance

Wednesday, December 20, 2017, 7:00 p.m.
When Christmas feels like too much, come and breathe in a new spirit. Bring your grief and loss to the service of hope and remembrance — designed to minister to those in need of compassion and care. This “Blue Service” offers a word of hope and encouragement and special prayers for healing.

Family Celebration of Christmas

Sunday, December 24, 2017, 5:00 p.m.
This family-friendly worship service will include readings of scripture, communion, familiar Christmas carols, and a live re-enactment of the Christmas story, as performed by the children of our church. Reconnect with Christmas through the spectacle of the Christmas pageant.

Traditional Candlelight Service

Sunday, December 24, 2017, 7:00 p.m.
Prepare your hearts and minds for Christmas at this traditional candlelight service led by Dr. Bill La Barr, Senior Pastor. Midnight Service of Reflection

Sunday, December 24, 2017, 11:00 p.m.
Meditate and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas with this candlelight service led by Drs. Bill La Barr and Rusty Hedges. This service is prayerful in nature, as together we await the arrival of Christmas Day. Communion will be served to all who wish to receive it.
