Dana, Jason, and Cori extend a great big thank you to all
who volunteered and all who attended Lord's Acre/Market at the Park. We
could not have put this on with your help and your willingness to donate
your time, auction items, and money. Our ministries have been blessed by
all of you.
If you have a Market at the Park yard sign please return it
so that we may use it again next year.

for your continued support through your 'love offerings'.
The church office often experiences hungry families coming to the church that do not have means to prepare and cook food, and may be in need of other necessities. Often, these folks are transient and are unable to obtain help in other places. Our stock of food is in need of replenishment. We do not want to send someone who comes into our church hungry away from us hungry. Therefore, we are again assembling boxes of food that can be given to families that are in need. We ask your help in this important ministry.
Items that are needed are: (pop top lids are an asset but not a necessity.)
Crackers, Boxes of cereal/Breakfast Bars, Peanut Butter (plastic jars), Boxed Milk (not powdered), Small canned hams, Vienna Sausage/Spam, Canned Tuna/Chicken, Canned fruit, Canned beans/potatoes/vegetables, Canned Ravioli/Spaghetti, Canned Chili/Stew, Hand Sanitizer/Wipes, Diapers, Small can openers
If you can help provide any of these items, please drop them off in the church office. The staff thanks you for your help and consideration.

funds can go toward the ski trip or fall retreat.

Upcoming Fundraisers
We're got several fundraisers coming up soon.
Schermer Pecan Sales
Participants of the Ski Trip will sell Pecans in the Ministry Center
November and December. The pecans are arriving the week of October 24.
The profit from Pecan sales has already come off the top of the ski
trip. All participants will be expected to put in some time at the table
selling pecans.
When the trip closes, I'll put out a sign-up sheet.
Cheeseball Sales
The Senior Class has sold Cheeseballs for the past 3 years. This is an
excellent and easy way to make a good amount of money toward your Senior
Trip or summer Mission Trip. There are 9 active Seniors this year. We
need a parent willing to spearhead this fundraiser. The time commitment
isn't huge, with the exception of the week-end before Thanksgiving.
If you are willing to take this on, please let me know.
This week focus at Student Outreach is Micah 6:8- Becoming Super. This
month, I've dressed as Superman, Bat Man AND the Green Lantern.
Do you know that we all have the opportunity to be partners with our
very own superhero? Jesus is more than willing to share the thrill of
his heroics with his followers. By the grace of God, we too could be
heroes! Lin Ogg is bringing the message this week.
Don't forget that we're having a Superhero and Villain costume contest
next week, September 28. Dress as your favorite hero or villain and you
may win a prize!

The 2011 Lord's Acre celebration and fund-raiser will be the
best and biggest ever!
The big date, Sept. 24, is almost here and will feature a
craft fair, sponsored by Children's Ministry; a festive lunch sponsored
by Music, and the silent and live auctions in addition to sign & go
socials, sponsored by Communications.
It's time for donations, and there are opportunities for
everyone. Do you have a craft or special talent to donate for the
silent/live auctions? Donate your time, talent, a basket or tickets to a
special event, just to name a few possibilities. Or consider doing a
"sign & go" dinner or event, where participants agree to pay a set
amount to participate. Dinners or any other social event (only
limited by your imagination) will be welcomed. The "sign & go" concept
was introduced in 2011, and the first events have resulted in some
delightful experiences and new friendships.
Donations are coming in and posted in the Ministries Center
on Sunday mornings. Donation forms are available for pick up at the
church in the Ministries Center and can be downloaded here. Or e-mail Rev. Dana
Norton (dana@ppumc.org).
With YOUR creativity and imagination, plus the gifts, skills
and products of a wide variety of vendors who are purchasing booth
space, the 2011 vintage Lord's Acre will be a destination shopping
experience for members of the church and community. Watch for our ad in
the Irving Rambler!
We are looking for vendors who sell handcrafted items as
well as those who represent company products for the new vendor gift
sales for Market at the Park. If you know of someone who would like to
have a booth at the gift sale please contact Cori Bell at X205 or
cori@ppumc.org.
The new and expanded schedule will include: Vendors and Sign
& Go Socials, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; meal, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; first silent
auction tables, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; second silent auction tables, 11
a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; live auction, 1 to 2:30 p.m.; and third silent
auction tables, 1:30 to 4 p.m. With our expanded venue and hours this
year, we will need even more donations than ever before. No offering is
too small and may be either auctioned or used as a door prize. We plan
to have some special door prizes as well.
We're on a roll and need your offering! What will you
donate? Will it be items for auction or a Sign & Go Social? Perhaps you
are a vendor or have a friend who would like to participate?
Don't forget to mark your calendar for September 24th and
come to Lord's Acre: Market at the Park. This will be the shopping and
social event of the year! Come be a part of what everyone will be
talking about. Remember all proceeds benefit the Children's, Music and
Communication Ministries
PPUMC will observe Laity Sunday on September 25 at all
worship services. Laity Sunday services will be highlighted with a
