Palm Sunday, April 1st at 9:15 and 11:00 a.m.
A traditional “Procession of the Palms” by the children of PPUMC will take place on Palm Sunday, and will feature the children’s choirs performing special music for this holy day. This service marks the beginning of Holy Week, and commemorates Jesus’ triumphant arrival in Jerusalem.
Maundy Thursday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m.
Members of the PPUMC Student Outreach will be leading a very special worship service commemorating Jesus’ Last Supper and the washing of the disciples’ feet. Music, liturgy, and the message will all be presented by the youth of our church.
Good Friday, April 6th at 7:00 p.m.
The Chancel Choir of PPUMC will present a powerful Good Friday service featuring a performance of the beautiful cantata “Once Upon a Tree” by Pepper Choplin, accompanied by piano and chamber ensemble. This dramatic musical will tell the story of the Passion of Christ through music and the narration of Luke, the author of the Gospel. This lyrical and dramatic setting is a PPUMC favorite.
Easter Sunday, April 8th at 8:30, 9:15, and 11:00 a.m.
A Celebration of the Resurrection will be held on Easter morning at all three worship services. The 8:30 and 11:00 traditional services will be identical, and will feature the Chancel Choir, the Sanctuary Bells, trumpet, string quartet, and Ken Surley on organ. Our 9:15 non-traditional service will feature the outstanding praise group Plymouth Park Praise, who will be joined by the PPUMC Chapel Choir for this special celebration. Senior Pastor Dr. Bill La Barr will preach a sermon entitled “They fled and told no one!” at all three services.
