Second Wave of the Reformation

The Exploring the Scriptures class is hosting a three-week series featuring Paul Benson. Join them on December 3, 10, and 17, 2017, in the Activity Room at 9:45 a.m. for 500th Anniversary of the Reformation: The Crux of the Matter!

The Reformation is one of the most important events in the history of western civilization. Its influence on European and American cultures has been profound, yet it is tempting for some to see it as just a religious disagreement within the Roman Catholic Church. It not only brought cataclysmic change to the very concept of what it means to be a Christian, it also delivered the death stroke to feudalism and led to the birth of capitalism. In retrospect, the Reformation did much more that the establishment of Protestantism, it brought on the birth of the modern Western world.
