Join the WIP (Work in Progress) Class for A Contemporary Learning Experience. If you’re attracted to non-traditional worship, you may find that a non-traditional Sunday school class is the right fit for you. Drop in any time for our stand alone classes in a contemporary series. Check out out our upcoming topics from the book Longing for Enough in a Culture of More by Rev. Paul L. Escamilla, Senior Pastor of Spring Valley UMC. Join us immediately following the P3 worship service at 10:15 a.m. in room A-113 where we are currently meeting with the Celebration class.

Teacher/facilitator is Irene Jackson, third year Master of Divinity student at Perkins School of Theology, SMU.

Class Schedule

March 23--Appreciating what God has already blessed us with will give us the perspective to make better choices.

March 30--Learning to avoid illusions and know better what is of real value will help us make better choices.

April 6--Recognizing the difference between appetites and longings, and the purposes of our bodies and our possessions will help us make better choices.

April 13--Understanding the importance of words and silence, and the ability to say "no" will help us make better choices.

April 20--Understanding the usefulness and purpose of will help us make better choices.

April 27--Understanding the importance of participating in worship, the Sabbath, and play will help us make better choices.

May 4--Understanding that Christianity is a communal religion and that as Christians we are bound to God and each other will help us make better choices.

May 11--Understanding that Christians experience the sacraments as a means of grace through the community of Christians and that the community must reach out to the world with the good news of the gospel will help us make better choices.

May 18--Understanding our responsibility as Christians for stewardship of the earth and all that is in it will help us make better choices.

May 25--Understanding the need to reduce our consumption and share our abundant resources with the needy world as part of God's plan to provide for "the least of these" will help us make better choices.
