DISCIPLE
Bible Study classes will begin meeting at Plymouth Park United
Methodist Church in September for a nine-month disciplined
and indepth examination of both the Old and New Testament
scriptures.
Based
on the model of Jesus and the 12 disciples, the small groups
with one or more co-leaders follow a time-tested schedule
of daily personal reading and prayer, along with a weekly
class that includes a video segment presented by popular Bible
scholars.
Two DISCIPLE classes are being offered this fall:
DISCIPLE I for Adults — 10 a.m., Tuesdays for 34 weeks beginning August 19, 2008. Course Leader: Dr. Bill La Barr. Register
DISCIPLE III (must have taken DISCIPLE I) — 4 p.m. Sundays for 32 weeks beginning August 24, 2008.
Course Co-Leaders: Dr. Bill la Barr & Dr. Joan La Barr. Register
With the Bible as the primary text, the two-hour sessions consist of a twenty-minute video presentation along with group dialogue. A daily commitment of 30-45 minutes of personal Bible study is required of each participant. The cost is $30 and includes a workbook and resource materials. Seasonal breaks are arranged during the holidays. You may register either using the form provided in the church bulletin or the links above.
