Alzheimer's/Dementia Caregiver Support Group meets at PPUMC
One of the most difficult challenges to individuals and families is coping with dementias like Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's Disease and dementia create stresses for families like no other crisis. As life expectancy and the incidence of dementias increase, more and more families must address the changes that will take place. A support group for the Irving community has been formed at PPUMC. Families and caregivers meet monthly and develop a support system that will help maintain their own health and well being, and optimal care for the person with dementia.
Our group meets at 7:00 pm, third Thursday of each month in room 108. Led by Marty Graham, R.N., trained as an Alzheimer's Association Support Group Facilitator, we have benefit of the many resources of the Alzheimer's Association: books, brochures, videos, monthly mailings, Speaker's Bureau, and the Helpline.
Join us as we support one another on a difficult journey.
