Under the Tree of Life concentrates on the Writings in the Old Testament and New Testament Scriptures include the Johannine texts. There is an emphasis on worship, and present though the entire study is the sense of living toward completion – toward the climax of the message and the promise, extravagantly pictured in the Revelation.  A workbook is required at a cost of $36 for this 32 week study. Bible Studies for Men & Women from the Pastors are two separate studies, exploring the bible from a gender specific perspective. The small group format provides opportunities to walk together in grace through contemporary issues of our day as men or women. These are ongoing, open studies that require advanced reading of the scripture to be covered each week. There is no cost for either study. Both begin: September 7, Wednesday, 7 p.m. Course Leader for Men’s Study: Dr. Bill La Barr. Course Leader for Women’s Study: Rev. Dana Norton.

Here and Now...There and Then by Beth Moore, a lecture series on the book of Revelation. Beth presents many points of view, allowing women to decide for themselves when the interpretation varies among scholars. She teaches that God is as specific about what He does reveal as He is about what He does not reveal.  A workbook is required at a cost of $9 for this 11 week study. Begins: September 7, Wednesday, 10 a.m. Child care provided. Course Leader: Amanda Nicholls.

Companions in Christ is for spiritually hungry persons who seek a deeper experience of God in company with others in the Christian community. This Upper Room transformational small-group study incorporates daily scripture readings, exercise material and articles in preparation for experiential lessons utilizing scripture reading, spiritual practice, reflection questions, and journaling.  Participants will explore the potential of Christian community as an environment of grace and mutual guidance through the Spirit. A workbook is required at a cost of $20. Begins: September 11, Sunday, 2 p.m. Course Leader: Rev. Dana Norton.

Sign Language Classes are offered at two levels. Beginning Sign will cover elementary concepts and vocabulary (starts with alphabet, numbers, and basic signs) utilizing the curriculum developed by the Sign Exact English Center. Intermediate Sign will cover intermediate concepts and vocabulary and be taught by a professional interpreter. The first week, all meet together for evaluation to determine which course is appropriate for participants. The S.E.E. dictionary is required for this course at a cost of $25. An additional charge for all participants of $30 for these 30 week courses defers the cost of interpreter. Begins September 10, Saturday, 9 a.m. (future Intermediate Class will be held at 10:30 a.m.) Beginning Course Leader: Rev. Dana Norton. Intermediate Course Leader: Bethany Richeson.
