Did you grow up in a different faith tradition or no faith tradition? Do you want to join and become a part of Plymouth Park UMC but you're just reluctant to go down front on a Sunday morning? This class is tailor made for you.
Dr. Bill La Barr will teach, lead discussion and answer all of your questions on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Attend this class and become a member of PPUMC at the conclusion.
Come join us Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 10-noon for our annual UMW Spring Brunch. This year, we’ll be entertained by Rose-Mary Rumbly. She is one of the most famous women speakers in North Texas and speaks 600 times a year at 80 years old. Brunch will be catered by The Chocolate Angel Tea Room. Tickets are $12 and available in the ministries center today. Childcare is available. Please contact the church office at 972.255.4185 with any questions. Please bring some canned meat, peanut butter, boxes of milk (not powdered), and pasta, etc. for PPUMC Food Pantry.
Reputed to be Dallas' most sought after speaker, Dr. Rose-Mary Rumbly has authored four books, A Century of Class; The Unauthorized History of Dallas; Dallas, Too, all humorous books about Dallas; and What, No Chili?, a children's book about Texas festivals. Rose-Mary is also an accomplished actress, having appeared in the movie Paper Moon with Tatum and Ryan O’Neal, and in several TV productions. She has acted with John Davidson, Ginger Rogers, Van Johnson and Ruta Lee. She was the Chair of the Drama Department at Dallas Baptist University for twelve years and served for seven years on the staff of First Baptist Church of Dallas.

The PPUMC United Methodist Women are hosting a Metro District event that is open to all women. It is the Metro District Spiritual Growth Day Apart on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 8:30am to 12:15pm in the PPUMC Fellowship Hall.
This Spiritual Growth event will feature Dawn Osborn speaking on “Telling Your Story”. Dawn works at Region 10 Education Service Center training teachers to meet the Proficiency Standard for English Language Leaners required by Texas Laws. She is originally from Joppa Missouri where she was a college professor. She has served on numerous church committees and is a member of Lake Highlands UMC. You will not want to miss this energetic and engaging speaker.
There will be a light breakfast served and child care provided.
After another Wonderful Ladies’ Retreat last month, we are already preparing for next year’s Ladies’ Retreat! Thank you so much for your support in ordering Spring Flowers from us.

On Saturday our keynote speaker will be Rev. Marie Mitchell, Associate Pastor at First Methodist Church, Duncanville. Marie is a dynamic and eloquent pastor and speaker. Her passion is empowering women and others to know the love of Christ that they might experience the power and rich inheritance that awaits those who believe.
Her presentation title for us is “God’s Amazing Grace: How Sweet the Sound” based on Max Lucado’s book, Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine. Her key scripture is from Ezekiel 36:26, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you”. She says “Get ready for a grace-filled weekend where the love of God will consume you!”
You may register for the Retreat at the Ministry Area near the church offices each Sunday January 13-February 4.
This is the last Sunday to purchase tickets for the UMW Christmas Brunch on Saturday, December 8 at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall.
Entertainment will be provided by the vocal group “Men in Black” and food will be catered by Chocolate Angel. Each person is asked to bring canned goods to be given to the Northgate Food pantry. The cost for the event is $12. Please purchase your ticket in the Ministries Center or contact the church office with any questions, 972 255-4185. Childcare is available.

The 2013 PPUMC Ladies’ Retreat Team will be taking orders in the Ministry Center on Sundays until October 14. You may also call the PPUMC office Monday at 972.255.4185.
Flats of 20 plants for $20, kale are $6/1 gallon container. Tulip bulbs are 25 count for $20 and daffodil bulbs are 50 count for $40.

Hey Ladies! Come Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us at UMW Spring Brunch on Saturday, May 5th from 10AM to noon.
UMW is having an exciting ladies’ brunch with chicken and steak fajitas for lunch and Irving’s own “Sweet Adeline” chorus, “Texas Harmony”, will be providing the entertainment. You can find more information on these lovely ladies on www.texasharmony.org. We hope to see you there.
