Youth Sunday, February 19
We still have a number of openings for Youth Sunday. Please remember that we’ll have a run-through of all three services on Saturday afternoon, Feb 18 at 1 pm. It’s important that all participants be here so they are confidant in what they are doing. The Youth Sunday shirts will be available at that time as well.
If there is a scheduling conflict, please let me know in advance.
Food Drive
We had a great response from our January food drive and Souper Bowl of Caring. The Family Groups at Student Outreach collected over 1200 items of food! Family Group #4 was the big winner by nearly 80 items and will be awarded with lunch at a restaurant in February. We collected another 300 cans Sunday morning as well as $575 to assist members of the church. All that food will go to Irving Cares. Way to go!
Student Outreach
This week’s topic at Student Outreach is piety. In the book of Matthew, the religious leaders thought doing the religious thing was what mattered most to God. Jesus flipped that idea on its head when he said that a relationship with Jesus Christ is what matters most.
Ms. Livy Powell, one of our 11th graders, will be giving the message. Go, Livy!
Sunday School
The Brash men will be providing breakfast this week, February 12.
Confirmation
The 6th grade Confirmation Class will meet this week at 5 pm. The High School Confirmation Class will meet for their 2nd session during Sunday School.
